Question: How do we balance our friendship with the world and our love for God?
A) We should embrace all that the world has to offer, as it is all a creation made by God.
B) Whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
C) Whoever chooses to be a friend of the world will find great favor by God.
Answer: B) Whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
You adulteresses [disloyal sinners—flirting with the world and breaking your vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend [that is, loving the things of the world] is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. ~James 4:4-6 (AMP)
Hey, everyone, I’m Anne-Marie Michaelis, a Christian author and coach. Welcome to the Faith Calls Podcast. My life was radically transformed during a supernatural encounter with Jesus.
I’m Anne Michaelis, a Christian author and coach. Welcome to the Hidden Battles podcast. My life was radically transformed during a supernatural encounter with Jesus. God allowed my eyes to be spiritually opened, long enough to see the truth of these hidden battles and to scare the rebellion against him right out of me.
In this episode of “Experience and Endurance Leads To The Crown Of Life,” I’ll be sharing a short story about a question that was asked during our small group studies the other day, which led to deep reflections on why we are tested in this lifetime and how it is for our benefit that we should experience, endure, and overcome through Jesus to pass the test and receive victory in this life and the life to come! I’ll unpack what all this means in this episode!
Today in this episode called “Purposeful Prayer”, I’ll share briefly about the period of time between when my eyes were first spiritually opened and before I was delivered from demonic oppression by Jesus. Then most of this episode will be on prayer or how we communicate with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I’ll be taking some teachings from my Christian Coaching workbook called “The Truth To Overcoming Hidden Battles”. After, we’ll end with reflections.
Today, in this episode, I will skip a couple of chapters from my book “Blinded By Hidden Battles” as we read the story of Jesus (His Story) last week. In this episode, I’m going to ask you to think about “your story” as we do a deep dive into the chapter called “Know Your Sins” … “What is sin and what does it do to us?” I challenge you to take out a notepad and pen and jot down whatever may come up for you when I read this chapter from “Blinded By Hidden Battles.” The impact of sin goes beyond what I will share in this chapter. I will dive into the “science of sin” in another episode.
