Episode #2" - "Your Design: Natural Propensity"

TRANSCRIPT

“Hey, everyone, I’m Anne-Marie Michaelis, a Christian author and coach. Welcome to the Faith Calls Podcast. My life was radically transformed during a supernatural encounter with Jesus.

God allowed my eyes to be spiritually open long enough to see the truth of the hidden battles and to scare the rebellion against him right out of me. Over the years, God has revealed my identity in Christ and purpose in him, calling me to step forward unapologetically into that purpose. Faith Calls for identity in Christ, purpose in God, and action, walking out God’s purpose for our lives.

As believers in Christ, we know that each of us has a unique purpose and plan pre-designed by God. Part of this podcast, we’ll be diving into our identity in Christ and purpose in God. God’s word clarifies that we should be diligent, plan, and walk out our purpose as.”

“He has designed for us, leveraging the spiritual gifts gifted to us by the Holy Spirit. This is a deep dive into our call, purpose, mission, vision, and commitment to walking out our purpose in God. This is the second episode of the workbook, Identity and Purpose in God, Her Plan and Schedule 365. Episode 2 from the Faith Calls podcast, part 1 of chapter 2 called Your Design, Natural Propensity. We’ll be breaking this chapter to three parts for your design.

Let’s start with prayer. Heavenly Father, I declare that. You, Lord, will accomplish that which concerns me.

Your unwavering loving kindness, O Lord, endures forever. You will not abandon the works of Your own hands.”

“You, Lord, who began a good work in me, will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Jesus’ return. Therefore, I accept. Your call on my life, Lord, and am forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which. You have called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. In all my ways, I submit to.

You and believe with all confidence that. You will make my path straight. You, Lord, will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go.

You, Lord, will counsel me with. Your loving eye upon me. I promise to seek first.

Your kingdom and. Your righteousness, and know with great confidence that all of these things will be given to me as well. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen. So if you prayed this with me, if you want this prayer, let me know. This is the prayer we’re going to start with, right?

This is more of a declaration prayer using scripture. Scripture is very powerful. It’s God’s word.”

“And so praying with scripture according to God’s word and. His promises to us is so important. So if you’d like a copy of this, let me know and I’ll send it to you.

But this is going to be our prayer that we’re going to start with as we began each of these Faith Calls episodes. Your design. What is your God-given design?

Your design, your God design makes you unique and special. God designed you for a specific purpose, way, time and plan that. He predestined just for you.

And I know that may sound crazy to some people, but it is unbelievably real and true when you start walking with God, and you let. Him reveal. His plan and purpose in your life.

In the following pages, if you have the book or over the next few podcast episodes, we’ll inventory what makes you, you, as God designed. We’ll see what. He’s already revealed through your natural propensities, traits, heart desires, what others see in you, experiences, events, spiritual gifts, and God messages.”

“Let me read you Ephesians 2 verse 10. For we are. His workmanship, His own masterwork, a work of art created in Christ Jesus, reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed, and ready to be used for good works, which God prepared for us beforehand, taking paths which.

He set, so that we would walk in them, living the good life which. He prearranged and made ready for us. Here’s some reflection questions that I’d like you to think about and write down your answers to.

What does Ephesians 2 verse 10 mean to you? How do you feel knowing that God has prepared paths just for you? And are you following paths you create, or are you hearing from God and taking paths that.

He set? Write down your answers. Pause this and write down your answers.

Your natural propensity. Or propensities, right? God gives each of us natural skills and talents.

These are things we have a natural propensity towards. Typically find easier and most likely enjoy doing. Every skill and talent given to you is from your Creator.”

“Proverbs 22 verse 29 says this, Do you see a man skillful and experienced in his work? He will stand in honor before kings. He will not stand before obscure men.

And Proverbs 16 verse 3 says this, Commit your works to the Lord. Submit and trust them to him. And your plans will succeed if you respond to his will and guidance.

Skills and talents. So I have some examples here, and this is by no means a full list of everything. So I just want you to use these things that I’m going to go over as examples, just to get your mind going.

So you can kind of recognize things in you, and maybe it’ll jar some other things to come to the surface. And again, you know, please be praying about this, and please be tapping in to the Holy Spirit. Don’t leave him out.

Leave him, you know, invite him into this. This is very important that you are inviting Holy Spirit into this and really keeping in communication with God about everything we’re going through with these episodes. So skills and talents.”

“Skills and talents can come in all shapes and sizes, and you may have natural skills and talents that cross multiple categories. You may be naturally skilled and talented in things that fall under the arts and creativity category. For example, storytelling, writing, design, painting, and things like that, and many others, right?

You may have natural skills and talents within the communication and people skills category. For example, sales, teaching, coaching, leadership, management, public speaking, and there’s many others. So those are just some examples.

You may have natural skills and talents within the physical or athletic category. For example, hunting, fishing, boxing, golfing, baseball, basketball, football. These are just some examples.

Or you may have natural skills and talents that are more intellectual, like mathematics, computers, finances, science, and there are many others. So these are just some examples. This is a very short list of examples to help you pull forward your unique natural skills and talents.”

“So pause this video, pray about anything you may be missing, and really, you know, let God lay on your heart what comes to the surface, and then write it down. So the reflection question, of course, is what are your natural skills and talents? So based on those examples that we just went over, and anything that God brought to the surface for you to write down, make sure you write those down right now.

What are your natural skills and talents? Chapter reflections, or again, it probably should have been called chapter challenge. It’s important that you be writing down in each of these episodes, these chapter challenges.

We’ll be building on this and taking it forward as we get towards the, you know, further episodes. So please be making sure you’ve got your notebook or your workbook or your worksheets filled in. So we’ll be breaking this chapter into three weeks.”

“So you can have time to really reflect on each of these areas that will be going over and not rush through it. If you haven’t done so already, write your skills and talents down. OK, now write a note to Jesus, thanking him for your skills and talents.

All right, and I’ll take a moment and write a note to Jesus asking him to guide you according to his will for your life and how best to use your skills and talents towards your ultimate purpose.
