Episode #4" - "Your Heart"

TRANSCRIPT

“Hey, everyone, I’m Anne-Marie Michaelis, a Christian author and coach. Welcome to the Faith Calls Podcast. My life was radically transformed during a supernatural encounter with Jesus.

God allowed my eyes to be spiritually open long enough to see the truth of the hidden battles and to scare the rebellion against him right out of me. Over the years, God has revealed my identity in Christ and purpose in him, calling me to step forward unapologetically into that purpose. Faith Calls for identity in Christ, purpose in God, and action, walking out God’s purpose for our lives.

As believers in Christ, we know that each of us has a unique purpose and plan pre-designed by God. Part of this podcast, we’ll be diving into our identity in Christ and purpose in God. God’s word clarifies that we should be diligent, plan, and walk out our purpose as He has designed for us, leveraging the spiritual gifts gifted to us by the Holy Spirit.”

This is a deep dive into our call, purpose, mission, vision, and commitment to walking out our purpose in God. Please take a moment to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and subscribe to my channel on YouTube at God Design LLC. Podcasts are available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

This is episode four from the Faith Calls podcast. This is part three of chapter two. This is the last part of chapter two called Your Design.

And this particular part is called Your Heart. So, let’s start with prayer. And again, this prayer is more of a prayer of declaration.

And everything that I’m going to be praying or declaring for us for this episode and for this whole podcast when we do this is all scripture. It’s all basically based on scripture. And if you want a copy of this prayer, because scripture, God’s word is so powerful.”

So when we are praying this and declaring this over our session today, it’s God’s word and that’s extremely powerful. So if you want a copy of this, let me know and I’ll get it to you. So let’s start with prayer.

Heavenly Father, we declare that you, Lord, will accomplish that which concerns us. Your unwavering loving kindness, O Lord, endures forever. You will not abandon the works of your own hands.

You, Lord, who began a good work in us, will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Jesus’ return. Therefore, we accept your call on our life, Lord, and we are forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. We press on toward the goal to win the prize for which you have called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.

In all our ways, we submit to you and believe with all confidence that you will make our paths straight. You, Lord, will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. You, Lord, will counsel us with your loving eye on us.”

We promise to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness, and know with great confidence that all these things will be given to us as well. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

So the last two weeks we started talking about your design for this chapter and went over your natural propensities. And then the last week we went over your godly traits. And this week we’ll finish talking about your design with talking about your heart.

Next week we’ll be moving on to the next full chapter, which is around our experiences. So your design, your heart. When we think about our heart, we may think about our emotions, feelings and desires.

So these inventory questions or reflection questions will focus on desires, joy, and those types of things that inspire, motivate or energize us. OK, reflection question. Let me read to you Psalm 16, verse 11.

And again, the scripture is on your screen here. So if you want to pause it and let you know, marinate on the scripture for a little bit, you can do that. But I’m going to read it to you right now.”

Psalm 16, verse 11 says this, You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand, there are pleasures forevermore.

And when you see your, when you see things like that capitalized, I’m not saying your as in somebody else. This is God, right? This is in God’s right hand.

In God’s presence is fullness of joy. God will show you the path of life. And in God’s presence is fullness of joy.

And in God’s right hand, there are pleasures forevermore. So what does Psalm 16 verse 11 mean to you? What brought you joy as a child?

And what brings you joy now? Now, write those down. Write the answers to those questions down.

But I also want to ask you something that’s not on the screen here. I want to ask you to think about and write down on, like as a side note, anything that comes up and comes to mind that is stealing your joy. That’s something we’ll want to address in my Hidden Battles podcast.”

Anything that’s a joy stealer. We don’t want the enemy’s joy stealers distracting us from our purpose and our identity in Christ. So we need to be mindful and understand if we have any joy stealers that are distracting us, preventing us, maybe keeping us in a state of fear or something.

So make sure you write those down, and those need to be addressed. Where this is to move us forward. So the joy stealers, if there’s anything that we come up with that you need to go and kind of visit the Hidden Battles Podcast, which right now is going on to walk through the workbook of the Truth to Overcoming Hidden Battles.

This is one item here. If you have any joy stealers, we need to overcome them. And so that would be the Hidden Battles Podcast that will walk you through, you know, how to be an overcomer.

And so make sure you write those down, too, and put that on the side because that’s that’s that’s going to be a side thing that you’re going to want to address and get past. All right, next reflection question. Let me read to you Psalm 37 verse four.

And again, when I, after I read this pause, take a moment to marinate on this passage, you can see it on the screen here for your convenience. So you can reread it and just kind of like marinate on this passage for a while. So Psalm 37 verse four in the Amplified Translation says this, Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.

Now, what does Psalm 37 verse four mean to you? What are the desires of your heart right now? Okay, next reflection question.

Let me read to you, Joshua 1 verse 9, Amplified Translation. And again, pause, after I read this pause, the scripture’s on the screen for you to kind of review again and just marinate on this passage before answering. Joshua 1 verse 9 says this, Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified or dismayed or intimidated, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. So what does Joshua 1 verse 9 mean to you?

What have you longed to do but perhaps have had fear, worry, lack of confidence, or something similar stand in your way? And I want to add another question. It’s not on there, but for those of you that are going through something right now, what does that fear look like or that worry look like?

And I really want you to, if you’re going through something right now, please write down Joshua 1 verse 9 and carry it with you on an index card, but keep reading that. If right now you are laden with fear and worry, take this scripture with you. Write it down.

All right, here’s our final reflection question. And this episode, it’s a lot shorter because we broke the chapter down into smaller bite-sized chunks over the last few episodes just to make it a little easier. And so let me read to you Isaiah 40 verse 29.

Again, pause the scriptures on the screen and take a moment to marinate on this passage. So Isaiah 40 verse 29 says this, he Lord God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. So what does Isaiah 40 verse 29 mean to you?

What gives you energy, inspires or motivates you, and possibly you lose track of time doing? That’s a big sign that it’s something that really you’re passionate about. So write that down, write your answers down.

Don’t forget to be doing that. And now, this isn’t on the screen as a question, but I really want to make sure we’re being mindful and not overlooking any hidden battles that may hinder us from our God-given call or purpose. So this is my next question, and I want you to make this like a side note, if you do have an answer for any of the questions I’m about to ask you, and they come up.

Is there any areas of your life that you feel are weary or weak? Any areas that are sucking the life out of you? I want you to describe those areas and what is going on, as well as how long it’s gone on, and if you know how it started.

If you have any energy stealers, like what we’re talking about here going on, I highly recommend also going through the Hidden Battles podcast that’s focusing over the next 16 to 20 weeks on the workbook, the Truth Overcoming Hidden Battles to help you overcome. We don’t want any of these, the enemy’s joy stealers or energy stealers, anything causing us to not really fully embrace our call and purpose and walk this out with God. So I highly recommend if something came up for you to also go through the Hidden Battles podcast.

So Chapter Reflections, Your Heart, End of Chapter Reflections. Write a note to Jesus and ask him to put his Spirit, the Holy Spirit inside you to fill you with his supernatural courage, strength, and confidence. And these are all traits that we should want to have to really truly walk out our call in our life for God with boldness and being unapologetic in what we’re called to do.

And so, you know, if we have a relationship with somebody, we call them, we text them, right? We might send an email to them, talk to them. So on top of praying to God and Jesus, we want to write a note to Jesus.

So write a note to Jesus and ask him to put his Spirit, the Holy Spirit inside you to fill you with his supernatural courage, strength and confidence.
