Revealing what the enemy does not want you to know …

The Bible: Spiritual Warfare

Hidden Battles

Unawareness = Vulnerability – Day 1

Spiritual Warfare

The key to victorious spiritual warfare is balance—God’s balance, not man’s extremes.

Jesus showed us that sometimes freedom meant casting out a demon, and other times it meant healing without mentioning the demonic at all. The battle isn’t one-dimensional.

Paul reminds us in Romans 6 that we must fight the sin inside of us.

And in Ephesians 6:10–18, he warns us to put on the full armor of God so we can stand against the devil’s schemes.

Spiritual warfare isn’t just about resisting the enemy “out there”—it’s also about crucifying the flesh, guarding our minds, and living filled with the Spirit.

True victory comes when we walk in the balance Jesus modeled: freedom from sin, protection from Satan, and strength in the Spirit.

That being said … If believers are not taught that life includes spiritual warfare, they will:

  • Misdiagnose their struggles as merely emotional, psychological, or circumstantial.
  • Blame people instead of understanding the spiritual powers working behind the scenes.
  • Think something is wrong with them when warfare hits, instead of recognizing it’s part of their assignment.

God’s Word

Hosea 4:6—My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge …

Open Doors to Deception – Day 2

Without spiritual discernment, many …

  • Fall into new age practices, occultism, or worldly wisdom wrapped in spiritual language.
  • Confuse the voice of the enemy for their own thoughts and feelings.
  • Accept false teachings that sound good but lack power and truth.

Satan thrives in secrecy and silence. If no one talks about him, he can operate unchecked

God’s Word

1 Timothy 4:1—But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons

Fail to Recognize Strongholds – Day 3

If spiritual warfare isn’t taught people:

  • Don’t recognize soul wounds, spiritual bondage, generational curses, etc.
  • Try to “fix” things with self-help or medication alone, not realizing they may need deliverance and inner healing (renewing of the mind).
  • Carry hidden chains while looking polished on the outside.

Strongholds can grow in shadows, never confronted, and never broken.

God’s Word

2 Corinthians 10:5—We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ

Believers Don’t Learn Their Authority – Day 4

Without teaching on spiritual warfare, believers:

  • Live like victims instead of victors.
  • Pray weak, passive prayers instead of bold, declarative prayers rooted in God’s Word.
  • Don’t learn how to bind, loose, stand, and war effectively.

Many go their entire Christian lives never knowing the authority Christ gave them.

God’s Word

Luke 10:19—Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.”

Church Becomes Powerless – Day 5

Without teaching on spiritual warfare:

  • Church becomes a motivational speech or a watered-down sermon to make it more palatable to the masses.
  • Teaching is reduced to behavior modification, not spiritual transformation.
  • Revival, deliverance, and freedom are rare or absent.
  • People stay stuck. The enemy stays happy.

God’s Word

2 Timothy 3:5—But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come … For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money … conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them.

So, what’s the remedy?

Start teaching spiritual warfare as:

  • A normal part of Christian maturity, not an “extra” for weirdos or charismatics.
  • A biblical reality (Ephesians 6, 2 Corinthians 10, Luke 10, Revelation 12, etc)
  • A training ground for victory, not fear.
