Boo! Fear Not. 31 Days of Spiritual Armor.
Day 17 – Fear is a Spirit
Subtitle: Why does fear thrive on Halloween?
Fear isn’t just a feeling—it’s a spirit.
Devotional Message: Haunted houses, horror movies, and scary costumes—Halloween thrives on fear.
But fear is more than adrenaline; it is a spirit.
The Bible says God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. When we entertain fear, we partner with the wrong spirit.
The enemy knows that if he can keep us in fear, he can keep us from faith. Fear paralyzes; faith mobilizes. Jesus casts out fear with perfect love.

Scripture: For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. (2 Timothy 1:7 AMP)
Reflection Question: Where have I tolerated fear as entertainment in my life?
Challenge: Replace one fear-driven activity with prayer or worship today.
Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
