Boo! Fear Not. 31 Days of Spiritual Armor.
Day 13 – Horror Entertainment: Fear as Fun
Subtitle: Why does the enemy market terror?
If fear is fun, why does it destroy peace?
Devotional Message: Horror movies and haunted houses flood the Halloween season. They glorify violence, torment, and fear. Fear sells—but it also enslaves.
The Bible says fear brings torment, but perfect love casts out fear.
The world calls fear entertainment, but the enemy knows it plants seeds of bondage.
As believers, we are not to feed on terror but on truth. God’s peace is greater than cheap thrills.

Scripture: There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love]. (1 John 4:18 AMP)
Reflection Question: Do I entertain myself with things Jesus died to free me from?
Challenge: Trade one fear-based movie or event for time in God’s Word this week.
Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
