Boo! Fear Not. 31 Days of Spiritual Armor.
Day 15 – The Open Door
Subtitle: Does Halloween invite the enemy in?
Not every open door is from God.
Devotional Message: Halloween activities—whether séances, Ouija boards, or even “innocent” rituals—create spiritual openings.
Scripture warns us not to give the devil a foothold and partner with the demonic. Every compromise, every celebration of darkness, is like leaving the front door open to a thief. It’s like a handshake with the enemy.
The enemy doesn’t need permission when we willingly participate in his traditions.
But here’s the good news: Jesus came to shut every door of bondage and open the door of freedom.

Scripture: On the contrary, the things which the Gentiles (pagans) sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons [in effect], and not to God; and I do not want you to become partners with demons [by eating at feasts in pagan temples]. You cannot drink [both] the Lord’s cup and the cup of demons. You cannot share in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons [thereby becoming partners with them]. Do we [really] provoke the Lord to jealousy [when we eat food sacrificed to handmade “gods” at pagan feasts]? Are we [spiritually] stronger than He? [Certainly not! He knows that the idols are nothing. But we deeply offend Him.] (1 Corinthians 10:20-22 AMP)
Reflection Question: Have I opened any spiritual doors through compromise, either knowingly or unknowingly?
Challenge: Renounce one Halloween-related practice you may have participated in.
Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
