Day 18 – Violence in the Shadows

Subtitle: What are the dark statistics of Halloween?
A dark and dangerous night that people “celebrate?”

Devotional Message: Insurance data and media reports show increases in property damage and vandalism on Halloween nights.  Pedestrian fatalities studies found a 43% increase on Halloween.

The culture calls it “fun,” but the fruit (character, results, spiritual state) shows the truth.

The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Halloween magnifies his agenda while disguising it under candy and costumes.

We must see beyond statistics and recognize the spirit fueling them. Only Jesus offers life and safety in His presence.

Reflection Question: Do I take lightly what God reveals through the fruit of Halloween?  If so, why?

Challenge: Pray over your neighborhood tonight for protection and peace.

Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace.  I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
