Day 3 - "Treat the Symptom, Not the Root."
Day 3: Treat The Symptom, Not The Root.
What if the reason you’re still hurting… is because the real wound was never touched?
In our world today, it’s easy to medicate what really needs healing.
Feeling depressed? Here’s a pill.
Anxious? Try this prescription.
Struggling with addiction? It’s actually normal. Everyone has needs some type of “fix”.
But deep inside, something still feels broken. Because covering symptoms isn’t the same as healing the root.
Jeremiah 6:14 (AMP):
“They have treated superficially the [bloody] broken wound of My people, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ When there is no peace.”
That’s the enemy’s plan: keep your deepest wounds hidden under spiritual bandages.
We call it self-care, but often it’s self-soothing that keeps us stuck.
Jesus didn’t come to numb your pain—He came to heal your soul.
Don’t settle for surface fixes.
Stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
Start asking, “What’s wounded in me?”
Jesus isn’t afraid of your pain—He wants to enter it and bring healing.

DEVOTIONAL: “Treat the Symptom, Not the Root”
SCRIPTURE:
Jeremiah 6:14 (AMP) — “They have treated superficially the broken wound of My people, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ When there is no peace.”
DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION:
You weren’t made to live in constant pain or brokenness.
But the enemy wants you to hide your wounds, manage the pain just enough to keep going, and never ask for real healing.
Culture tells you: “Just cope. Just survive. Just get by.”
Jesus calls you: “Come to Me, all who are weary …” (Matthew 11:28)
The world offers bandages for your broken heart.
Jesus offers a new heart.
Let Him touch what no one else can.
If you downloaded this 10-day series PDF … go to Day 3 and say this short declaration and prayer with me …
DECLARATION:
I refuse to live in survival mode. I bring my wounds to Jesus, the only true Healer of my soul.
PRAYER:
Lord, I’m done covering up what needs healing. Search my heart. Restore me. Touch the places I’ve been afraid to bring into Your light.
CHALLENGE:
Write down one area of your life where you’re just managing symptoms.
Ask Jesus to reveal the root—and journal what He shows you.
Pray for healing, not just relief.
