Boo! Fear Not. 31 Days of Spiritual Armor.
Day 7 – Death on Display
Subtitle: Why skeletons, tombstones, and the spirit of death?
Halloween worships what Jesus already defeated. (read that twice)
Devotional Message: Halloween glorifies death through skeletons, ghosts, tombstones, and gore. Yet the Bible says Jesus conquered death and the grave.
When we decorate our homes with death, we agree with the enemy’s agenda. Followers of Christ proclaim life—not death.
Every skeleton hung in “celebration” of Halloween is a mockery of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.
We are called to celebrate the Living One (Jesus) who holds the keys of death and hell.

Scripture: When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. And He placed His right hand on me and said, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last [absolute Deity, the Son of God], and the Ever-living One [living in and beyond all time and space]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of [absolute control and victory over] death and of Hades (the realm of the dead). (Revelation 1:17-18 AMP)
Reflection Question: How have I normalized or celebrated “death” instead of proclaiming life?
Challenge: Replace one death-themed decoration with a symbol of life in Christ.
Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
