Day 9 – Ghosts & Spirits: The Counterfeit Afterlife

Subtitle: What is the truth about the “dead?”
Are ghosts real—or is something darker at work?

Devotional Message: Many believe ghosts are spirits of dead people wandering the earth. But the Bible is clear: when we die, we face judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

Ghosts are not Grandma coming back—they’re demonic impersonators.

Satan loves to counterfeit, and “ghost stories” only open doors to fear, deception, and even seeking to communicate with those that have passed (necromancy).

Jesus already conquered death, and believers go to be with Him.

The enemy wants people fascinated with the dead instead of focused on eternal life.

Scripture: And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment … (Hebrews 9:27 AMP)

Reflection Question: Do I view ghost stories as harmless fun, or do I see the demonic deception clearly?

Challenge: Replace a ghost-themed item with a Scripture about eternal life.

Salvation Call: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of your grace.  I repent of my sins and surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Jesus, I ask for you to be my Lord and Savior over every area of my life. Let Your will be done in my life Lord. Jesus, place in me Your Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be my helper through all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
